November 2026

Six cities, artists from French-speaking Switzerland, and dozens of printed works to cut out, share, or take home. The “This is Print” campaign is touring French-speaking Switzerland. After Delémont and Fribourg, there are two events this week: Carouge on Wednesday, November 4, and Neuchâtel on Saturday, November 7.

This week: Carouge, then Neuchâtel

Wednesday, November 4, starting at 2:30 p.m., at Place du Marché in Carouge (Geneva). A new exhibition featuring nearly 200 cards, some of which can’t be found anywhere else: works by local artists and archival documents.

Saturday, November 7, starting at 3:00 p.m., at Place des Halles in Neuchâtel. The event originally scheduled for October 21 has been postponed. We decided to wait rather than hand out soggy maps. Rain and paper don’t mix well.

Fribourg: Just the Right Place

October 28, Place Georges-Python. That’s where the city comes alive—and it certainly did. People stopped by, made their choices, took what they wanted, and walked away. They met the artists and left with a piece of art in their pockets. The press was there, too.

That’s exactly what the installation was meant to achieve: you don’t just look at the print from a distance; you pick it up and talk about it.

In Fribourg, La Liberté was a partner for this stage: a golden ticket hidden among the cards offered the chance to win a Premium Subscription, print + digital. Louana Petter was the one who found it.

What people are saying:

Paper Speaks Volumes

On October 17 in Delémont, the rain didn’t stop the first stage of the event: passersby stopped to touch, choose, and take home the postcards.

Above all, they talked about paper. A student who still takes all her notes by hand because writing helps her learn. A visual arts teacher for whom paper remains a sensory pleasure—and a medium that won’t disappear. “Paper evokes different emotions than scrolling,” sums up Joëlle Gerber of the Lemon agency, which is producing the French-speaking Swiss version of the campaign.

That is precisely the goal of “This is Print,” the campaign by dpsuisse, the umbrella organization for the graphic arts industry: not a message to be read from a distance, but a conversation about what print brings to our daily lives.

What We Put in People's Hands

Each installation features nearly 200 postcards created by artists from here and abroad: illustrations, engravings, photographs, and graphic designs. Printed on carefully selected papers and produced using techniques that showcase the expertise of the printing trades (varnish, hot foil stamping, embossing), they are meant to be looked at, touched, shared, or taken home.

As the afternoon wears on, the cards disappear, the message hidden behind them gradually comes to light, and the artworks continue their journey elsewhere.

And a few surprises along the way

To extend the experience, you can try to win one of the many prizes up for grabs, including a MacBook Neo. Yes, a screen. So you can create your own postcards!

Depending on the city, some artists will also be present at the event. Media outlets wishing to conduct an interview or learn more about their work may contact us so we can facilitate a connection.
